Bones in the Garden – McKayla DeBonis

Authors Note

Bones in the Garden takes place during a time of a painful breakup, one where I was mentally abused and cheated on multiple times.  Half of these poems came from a very dark time that was so hard to escape from.

I learned to grow from this experience, to become the women I had intended to be even if I felt too damaged at the time to heal myself.

The death of that relationship blossomed life into another one, one where I could flourish.

But you don’t need a man/ relationship to do that, all you need is self-love.

Take my advice, you can grow, you can heal, you can learn no matter what.

Just pick yourself up and keep going.

I thought I would include this little note because it was beautiful written and the best way to explain this poetry book which was beautiful itself.

This book is around 80 pages and goes through the stages of loving, hurting & loving yourself once again.  Again this book was written very beautifully.  The author put a lot of time effort and probably her heart & first born into writing this book because of how well it is put together.

After some of the poems there are little illustrations which I love when it comes to poetry books.

I purchased this book on Amazon for around $8 which isn’t a bad price at all.

If you are going through any of the above stated, or if you just appreciate some beautifully written poetry, I would recommend this book for you.
