When I made my originally “Netflix & Chill” Netflix guide I did not think that it would have such a great response. This made me want to watch more Netflix so I could come out with more suggestions. I don’t know exactly how long it has been since I made that or my “Netflix List” guide, but I thought it was time to come to you guys with some more fire.
The Death And Life of Marsha P. Johnson
This documentary focuses on the life & death of Marsha P. Johnson, Marsha was an activist for trans women who died under suspicious circumstances in 1992 & her friend Victoria Cruz made it one of her missions to find out what happened. I am suggesting this for the fact that it is VERY educational, especially for people of the LGBT I think I spelled that right community.
This documentary was focused on the life of Gloria Allred who is considered a feminist attorney. Most people know her for her big attitude for such a little person. I think this gave a very good insight to the type of person Glora has grown to be due to the hardships that she has faced in her life. Also, I know I am late but I had no clue Lisa Bloom was her only daughter, wow I am shookt.
This docu series is about some of the BIGGEST drug lords known to man or law enforcement. There were a lot of people mentioned in this series that I had never heard about which was great because it gave me a chance to learn new names & cases. This is one that I would highly recommend.
Confessions: Animal Hoarding
I don’t know what it was about this show but I was hooked. Everyone has a story and different reasons as to why they have so many animals. I found that this gave me more of an insight into animal hoarding as a lot of people would not think that it is an actual issue. Animal hoarding is defined as a compulsive need to possess and control animals. It is a dysfunctional behaviour with no known diagnosis or treatment & in most cases, the problem is not addressed until it becomes a crime.
The Naked Truth
This docu series investigated on a lot of growing issues in America. One that should be well known is Fentanyl which is a HIGHLY addictive & extremely strong painkiller that can kill with the smallest dose. It is being used to lace other drugs and people are dropping like flies. They also have an episode about the online wrong of mugshots, ISIS fighters, cannabis, Donald Trump, and hazing incidents. This series covers a range of topics & I feel like everyone can really learn something from it.
This series goes over stories with cops & agents (mostly retired) who have been undercover in some of the craziest sting operations. I liked this one because it is interesting to see and understand how a law enforcement officer could infiltrate the mob & even drug cartels.
Nightmare Tenants & Slum Landlords
This series caught my interest because I am currently taking a class that deals with the landlord and tenant tribunal & watching this show, showed me first hand what some landlords and tenants really go through. Even though this show is UK based, most of the same rules are as follows therefore it was still of educational value for me.
