Why did I give up all dairy but cheese?

Yes, I have 90% stopped consuming dairy products.

I switched from cow’s milk to almond milk.

I stopped eating yogurt because it was giving me intense stomach pains and gas.

I switched to vegan butter, yes there is a vegan butter.

Ice cream is something that is no longer for me, unless I am having a serious craving, if thats the case I’ll take the pain for a short moment of happiness.

But we have one problem, I can’t give up cheese.  I refuse to give up cheese, it has been a love of mine for my whole entire life.

Now, onto the bigger question, why did I give up dairy?

If too much dairy is consumed in a day, it can make you gain weight and I am trying to lose weight so why would I sabotage myself in such way?  It also had me extremely bloated and gassy which is not the best situation to be in, especially when you are at work or school.

Gut irritation is next on the list, yes gut irritation.

“Casein is the main protein that is found in dairy products and can also be a problem for the digestive system. Improving gut health and digestion is essential to speed up weight loss so eliminating any irritants could significantly improve results.”

Milk is known to be one of the causes of acne, that should be self explanatory because everyone knows how I feel about my skin.

Dairy is high in sugar!!  Again self explanatory, too much sugar is not good for the body or the skin.

I also saw some mentions of the C word, Cancer, but that is another conversation for another day.

All in all, dairy isn’t as good for you as everyone thinks it is.  I have definitely cut down on my consumption of cheese but it is just something I can’t give up.

If you still eat dairy products, that’s good for you but I try not to and honestly, I have felt the difference in my body.

  1. Taking a lot of dairy is like begging your body to gain weight…. Unsweetened yoghurt is actually OK because of the probiotics it contains..
I never knew there is vegan butter, thanks for this info.
